Stitch Fix #4

My fourth Stitch Fix arrived on July 18th and I was extremely happy with this fix.  After my last fix I had requested a scarf this time around and also to continue the trend of bright colors!  Amy (my stylist) did not disappoint.

Here is a break down of the items I received:

1. Margaret M - Emer Jacquard Print High Wasted Cropped Pant {kept}

2. Pixley - Mirado Lasercut Detail Blouse {kept}

I loved the detail in the top.  It's hard to see in these pictures, but there is a top layer that has tiny little squares cut out of it and then there is a solid blue tank underneath.  This shirt was amazingly comfortable and I'm pretty sure I said "mine" the moment I put it on.  The pants I was torn about.  Mainly because they were a little pricey, but again my stylist won me over on the comfort factor.  Side note: if these are considered high waisted I do NOT want to see what a low waist pair looks like.

3. Papermoon - Alexus Dress {returned}

4. Octavia - Henry Birds on Branch Infinity Scarf {kept}

Dress: Stitch Fix, Scarf: Stitch Fix, Shoes: Nordstrom

I really liked how this dress fit, but I have one almost identical to it so it had to go back.  As for the scarf I loved it!  It's the perfect weight to add some flair to an outfit without making me hot.

5. Fun2Fun - Walden V-Neck Blouse {returned}

Top: Stitch Fix, Skirt: Banana Republic, Shoes: Nordstrom

I really liked the color of this blouse, but the shoulders felt a little restricting and I honestly don't like to pay good money to "hulk" out of a shirt so this pretty thing had to go back.


For my next fix I requested that Amy style me again as I think she pretty much hit the nail on the head in regards to my style needs/wants.  The only item I requested this time around is a cardigan.  I am always cold at my office!

Stitch Fix #3

My third Stitch Fix arrived June 10th, and my husband arrived in Texas that same day so that we could close on the house yesterday (saving that for another post).

I don't have any photos for this fix because I left Thursday night for Orlando, FL to celebrate Heather's bachelorette weekend (saving that for another post as well) and I had to make my selection of items to keep by Saturday...doh.  I have the style cards for each of the items below.  I'll be sure to showcase the two items I ended up keeping in another post. 

Here is a break down of the items I received:

1. Market & Spruce - Bexley Smocked Henley Knit Top {returned}

I have a shirt almost identical to this one so I just couldn't justify keeping it although it was VERY comfortable.

2. Kensie - Rebekah Contract Detail Blazer {kept}

From the moment I put this blazer on I was in LOVE!  It is so lightweight that I can definitely were it in Texas at the office and not die of sweat between the car and the office. I think White/Cream many be my new neutral this year.

3. Kut From The Kloth - Corynne Distressed Boyfriend Short {returned}

I just do not like myself in shorts.  Working on losing some weight before I venture into this realm again.

4. Market & Spruce - Berg Pintuck Detail Top {kept}

My stylist knows the way to my heart....soft fabrics!  This shirt is incredibly soft and just so comfortable to wear AND it's work appropriate!

5. Margaret M - Christiana Skirt {returned}

I really liked this skirt.  It had the prettiest details, but there was no lining and for the price of approx. $80 I just couldn't justify that kind of money on a skirt with very little material.

For my feedback to my stylist this time I told her to continue with the colorful items and to include a scarf next time.

Stitch Fix #2

I received my second Stitch Fix mid May and I'm just now getting around to posting about it.

This time around I ended up only keeping one item as the others just didn't really fit my needs or wants.

I had requested jeans and shorts specifically, but the ones they sent just weren't quite right. Forgive my photos on this posting as many of them were taken with my Microsoft Lens app and many were selfies since the hubby is still in VA while I'm in TX.

Here is a break down of the items I received

1. Skies are Blue - Bales Herringbone Split Neck Tank {kept}

When I tried on this shirt I fell in love with how soft and light weight it was. It was a little pricier than I would like to pay for casual tank top ($48), but I had already paid my $20 styling fee so I figured it this was the only item I was getting then it wasn't so bad

2. Market & Spruce - Ivy Crochet Back Tab-Sleeve Blouse {returned}

This shirt was nice, but it was completely crocheted in the back so I would need to wear a camisole under it or another shirt and I'm not a fan of wearing numerous layers in the Texas heat.  Hence this one went back.

3. Pixley - Bixby Dot Print 3/4 Tab Sleve Blouse {returned}

It seems that my stylist thinks blue looks great on me because that seems to be the most common color I've been receiving.  This shirt was nice, but without a belt it wasn't very flattering and it felt very mature with the pearl buttons on the end of the sleeves. I did request for my next fix that my stylist send me some items that were not blue.

4. Liverpool - Sally Cuffed Short {returned}

I don't have any photos of myself in these shorts as I honestly hated them.  I didn't think they were flattering at all and they were basically acid wash.  Not a fan at all.

5. Mavi - Aiden Skinny Jean {returned}

These jeans were very nice and there is not picture of me in them because I could never get the right angle by myself to showcase them.  I ended up not keeping them because they were priced at $98 and since they were essentially leggings and I couldn't justify spending that much on leggings.

I gave my stylist lots of feedback this time around so hopefully that will help to jazz up my next fix.

Stitch Fix #1

After about a year of waffling I finally decided to try Stitch Fix.

 

Stitch Fix is essentially a stylist service at a minimal price.  The cost of each "Fix" is $20 and that $20 will be applied to any item(s) you purchase. 

 

The best piece of advice I got before I decided to try Stitch Fix was to be very specific and very detailed when filling out the user profile.  I can happily say that by following that advice I was pretty satisfied by what came in my first "fix".

 

Without further ado here is my review of the items I received.

 

1. 41Hawthorn - Jace Dot Print Fit & Flare Dress {kept}

 

When I looked at the style card that came with this dress it was misleading because the picture on the card does not do the dress justice.  The card made the dress seems one color when actually it's a dark dress with adorable teal polka dots.  I was leery until I tried the dress on...it fit like a glove and was extremely comfortable.  I like that I can wear it to work and on the weekends.

 

When I asked Max to take pictures he even agreed the pictures just don't do the dress justice (hence why we lightened one).

 

2. Sweet Rain - Sarafina Leaf Print V-Neck Blouse {kept}

 

I've been trying to jazz up my tank top/sleeveless blouse section of my closet because with the impending move to Houston I know they will come in handy.  The leaf print on this shirt was small and very pretty.

 

3. 41Hawthorn - Benson 3/4 Ruched Sleeve Blazer {kept}

 

 As you can see I REALLY liked this blazer.  I've been on the hunt for a navy blazer for probably over a year.  All of the ones I had found previously, that I liked, were ridiculously expensive (think $200+).  So I was pleasantly surprised by this blazer priced at $78.  This was the most expensive item in my box so I think my stylist, Victoria, did a great job respecting my wishes to keep things as affordable as possible. This jacket looked great with the Sweet Rain - Sarafina Leaf Print V-Neck Blouse (see above), my pineapple sundress (love the work bathroom shot), and my flowy pink blouse.

4. Dahlya - Tapainga Split Neck Blouse {returned}

 

 



I really wanted to like this blouse.  Problem was the buttons down the front had gaps between each button and I just couldn't get comfortable with the idea of showing off my bra.  I actually wore a nude camisole under the blouse in the picture above.

5. Kut From The Kloth - Siena Capri Pant

 

The pants were actually very comfortable, but they were not meant for short people.  They are supposed to be capris and look more like a shortened ankle pant on me.  Also, the pockets flared just a little so I thought I would likely end up being self-conscious about that.  This was the last photo that I asked Max to take and he definitely got a great candid of me that I knew had to be shared.

 

I'm currently scheduled to get fixes every month, but I might change that to seasonal/quarterly.
